I'm Getting Sick Of Waiting

This album was originally slated to be released on My 15...

Then the release date was changed to May 29, so I was eager to check my inbox today to see if it had shipped...

Guess what!

Now the release date has been changed to June 5...

It has been released only in France so far. I hate the fucking French!!!

Manic Monday

The food edition...

What's your favorite food item that is in your refrigerator right now?
Mmmm...Black bean burgers! So tasty and so simple to prepare. I'm a veggie burger fanatic!

Do you enjoying barbecuing on the grill? What's something that you make often?
I haven't barbequed for quite some time, but when I do I like to make either burgers (meatless or ordinary) or marinated boneless chicken breasts. I seldom do hot dogs. I don't care for the way that they cook (burn) on a grill...

What one item (kitchen gadget, appliance, food item) in your kitchen best describes your personality? Why?
Hmmm... The water faucet!
Why?
Because I've been known to run hot and cold!

Just Thinking Out Loud

Bad weather rolls in. My internet connection disappears. I don't understand this, but it happens every time we get a bit of nasty weather. How does this weather effect the phone lines. DSL still uses phone lines...
It makes no sense to me.
Any technical whizzes out there have an explanation for my frustrations?

I Wish...

For once, the people at Blogthings were completely off the mark with one of their quizzes...

Your Love Life is Like Pretty Woman

"I want the fairy tale"

You believe that love is truly blind, unpredictable, and surprising. Two very different people can easily find true love.
At least, that is how it will happen when you marry a gorgeous billionaire someday ;-)

Your love style: Sensual and flirty

Your Hollywood Ending Will Be: Surprisingly happy

I think that I got this result because there were just no cynical bitter choices to answer the questions...

Manic Monday

What was the best day of the past week for you and why?
Probably Saturday...
No work, a trip to the mall where I bought some great new music and dinner at Quaker Steak & Lube. Yummy wings! A very good day...

What is the best thing about the city in which you currently live?
If you are referring to Pittsburgh, it's definitely FOOTBALL!
If you refer to my hometown, there is absolutely nothing good about this hell hole. It has always been my fondest dream to leave here FOREVER!

What do you love most about yourself?
I say what I mean, and I mean what I say. I don't play games with people...
I can accept myself as I am, and I guess that's what I like most about myself.

My Message To The Spammers

Dear Spammers,

I do not wish to talk to a hot chick.
I have no need for Viagra or Cialis.
I do not need to enlarge my penis...

There is a very good reason for this...

I AM A WOMAN!

When you can set me up with Michael Schenker in a room with mirrors on the ceiling, please, send me an email.

Until then, please turn your attentions to someone more appropriate.
Might I suggest you send this shit to
A MAN!

Sincerely,

She-Schenker

I've Been Shopping

Alas, it was merely a trip to Wal Mart. How I wish that I could say that I had been to the new music store that I discovered, buying Dean guitars. I just don't have that kind of money...

Instead I found myself purchasing silly, childish things today, like a matching "sock" and headphones for my i'mnotPod and a Pokemon game.

Yes, I said a POKEMON game. I love those silly cartoons, and the games that go with them!

Thursday Thirteen

There are some people who I really wish I could talk to just one more time...

Thirteen people who I miss terribly

1. Paul
- He taught me to play guitar and was like a second dad to me. There are so many times I wish that I could talk to him.

2. Judy - She was the regular on the route that I now carry when I first started working for the post office. I was her sub. We shared the same birthday. There are often times when I think of things that I'd love to talk to her about. I know she'd understand.

3. Uncle Ray - He used to stay at our house a lot when I was little. He teased the hell out of me. It wasn't until I was much older that I realized this was his way of saying "I love you." He passed away over twenty years ago at a very young age, so we had very little time spent together as adults. I just wish that I could tell him how special he was to me.

4. Cindy - A friend of our family who had very little, but always had something to give.

5. Charlotte - My cousin who was brutally murdered along with my aunt and uncle in 1970. I can barely remember her face now, but what I do remember is a young woman who would take the time to play with a silly little girl...

6. My maternal grandfather, Rudolf - He passed away when I had just turned 6. I wish that we had more time to spend together.

7. Robert - An older gentleman who used to live on my route. He was such a tease! And such a sweetie.

8. Marcella - A sweet lady who never let the difficulties of life get her down. She always had something to say to make me smile.

9. My paternal grandmother, Anna - I am told that I resemble her. I do not know. She was gone before I was a year old. I wish I could have known her...

10. My paternal grandfather, Elmer - Also gone while I was but a wee one. I never got the chance to know him either...

11. Michelle - A sweet girl whose husband was a friend of "the estranged one." We often talked of doing things together, but never actually got around to doing them.

12. Whitey - Also one of my postal customers. He loved to do woodwork. I miss seeing him and his creations in his backyard.

13. Mike - My friend's husband. I still wouldn't tell him that my youngest son wasn't named after him, though. It would break his heart.

"While we're here we shouldn't waste a day of life to say I love you
It's now that I just wish so much to see you eye to eye..."

I'm Sick Of People

It seems that far too many people are blissfully unaware of the increases in US postage that went into effect on Monday. I'd love to spot these people the extra two cents for their cards and letters, but quite frankly, I can't. They'd nickel and dime me until I was flat broke!

The people Who know about the increase are just as bad.
Perhaps what I really mean to say is they're just STUPID!

Some prime examples of the stupidity....

The man who mailed three letters and put two 39¢ stamps on each of them. He wasted $1.11 because he was too lazy to buy a few 2¢ stamps...

The lady who gave me $4.00 today for twenty 2¢ stamps.
WTF?!That comes to a gand total of 40¢.
I wonder what the rest of the money is for...

ARGH!

Manic Monday

Is it easier for you to forgive or to forget?

I'm like an elephant. I can forgive, but I never forget...

Do you believe people can change?
*cough*
It's Tuff But Possible
Yes, but only if they really want to, and it ain't easy...

(Did the Michael Schenker reference go over your head?)

Has life made you more cynical or more hopeful?
99% cynical, 1% hopeful...
Life has definitely made a cynic of me. I wasn't always this way.

It's That Kitten!

Her face is just so damned expressive. Most of the time she looks really pissed off. I suppose that is to be expected, her being the daughter of the devil ("The Estanged One's" demon cat) and all.

And so I decided to take her to the LOL Cat Buildr to see what I could do...

Definitely a LOL!

Oh, The Shame Of It!

Blogthings never lie...

You Are a Martini

There's no other way to say it: you're a total lush.
You hold your liquor well, and you hold a lot of it!

Dear God! I must be a cause of shame to my children, my friends, my family...

No, actually these people love me just the way that I am.
And quite frankly, I don't give a fuck about anyone else's opinion.

Meet The Pets

Neopets, that is. Just another silly addiction of mine. I've been playing with these virtual pets on one account or another for the past seven years. These two are the newest members of my neo-family.

Anyone care to guess their names?

Feeling hungry? Need a drink?

Thirteen great places to eat, drink, or otherwise be merry in my area

1. Barley's and Hops
(South Park, PA) - A great place for eating German sausages and drinking exotic beers...

2. Redd Dawg's (Rostraver, PA) - Great nightly drink special and all sorts of yummy food in a sports bar atmosphere!

3. Three Amigos (Charleroi, PA) - Great authentic Mexican cuisine. Can't wait 'til they get their liquor license... They made one hell of a margarita on Cinco de Mayo

4. Islander Buffet (Wheeling, WV) - Located inside the Wheeling Island Casino. Great unlimited grub! And chocolate fountains...

5. The Little Bamboo (Rostraver, PA) - The best Chinese (and Japanese) cuisine in my area, IMHO.

6. Primanti Brothers (Various locations throughout the Pittsburgh area) - SAndwiches as big as your head served up Pittsburgh style, topped with fries and cole slaw. They also make a hell of a pizza.

7. The Roadside Reastaurant (Rostraver, PA) - Great home cooked foods, dirt cheap, served in a no frills atmosphere.

8. Bucca de Beppo (Station Square, Pittsburgh, PA) - Italian food, served family style. The best tiramisu you've ever tasted!

9. Mad Mex (Oakland, Pittsburgh, PA) - Great Mexican food, even better margaritas!

10. Cici's Pizza (Washington, PA) - Pizza buffet! What more could you ask for at a mere $4.99?

11. USA Steakhouse (Washington, PA) - All you can eat steak, chicken, and more!

12. Pasta Too! (South Park, PA) - One of very few Italian restaurants that serves my favorite dish, linguini with white clam sauce. The wait to get in is often long. You'd best call ahead.

13. The Melting Pot (Station Square, Pittsburgh, PA) - Fondue of both the cheese and chocolate varieties. Served at the bar for those without reservations.

Kewpie Doll

I'm sitting here, loking like one of those silly things.
Why?
Probably because I just ain't ready to have hair the color of Rudolf Schenker's platinum blonde (AKA GRAY!)...

Who does he think he's fooling, besides himself?

Manic Monday

It seems that we're discussing school days this week...

What do you remember about your first day of school?
It was 1967. My grandpap came to see me off. He was driving his blue Corvair. The muffler fell off on the way over, and it was making tons of noise! I also believe that I was wearing an orange and white houndstooth checked dress with a pleated skirt. Girls were not allowed to wear pants to school in those days, not even in kindergarten!

Have you ever attended a high school or college reunion? What was it like?
No. I see no sense to it. The only people who go to those things are the snobby pretentious cheerleader/jock types who treated me like dirt in school. I'm quite happy to not have to deal with those people any more.

Do you keep in regular contact with anyone from high school and/or college?
It's funny, but most people born in this area stay here. I still see most of my high school friends fairly frequently. Alas, I cannot say the same for those that I met in college...

A floral insight into the finer aspects of my personality, according to the wise ones at Blogthings.

You Are An Iris

You are a unique person who seeks out novelty in life.
An inspiration seeker, you often have to change scenery to recharge.
You don't deal well with structure or rules. You need to do it your own way.
Your ideal relationships are free and flowing. No one can tie you down.

Can I Lie?

It is said that addictive personalities like myself are prone to telling lies, but are we good at it? Am I good at it?

Let's see what the good folks at Blogthings have to say...

You Are a Pretty Good Liar

Your lies are somewhat believable, but sometimes you get caught.
Work on keeping your body language and emotions calm and you'll be a better liar in no time!

Fairly accurate, I suppose.
