Who Knew?

I was watching an episode of Doctor Who last night where the doctor and his companion went back to Elizabethan England...

Inever knew that Shakespeare was such a hottie!

Manic Monday

What is the most useful gift you’ve ever been given?
When I was little, my grandparents used to buy me savings bonds for special occasions. I thought them to be quite boring gifts at the time, but changed my mind when I was able to use them to buy my first car.

Name the most terrifying moment of your life so far.
Finding myself lying on the road, unable to get up, head spinning with no idea of what had happened when I was hit by that car definitely ranks up there!

One hot summer afternoon, while walking through a parking lot at a large shopping center, you notice a dog suffering badly from the heat inside a locked car. What would you do?
Finding the dog's owner and locking him/her in a hot car for a few hours comes to mind, but it's probably not a good idea. The best I can think is to get the plate number and have the owner paged. A confrontation would only end up with me getting arrested on assault charges or some other nasty thing.

A lovely early Scorpions photo.
That adorable little boy on the far left, that's Michael Schenker!

Rest In Peace

I was deeply saddened today to learn of the death of Paul Newman.

He was 83.

Actor, director, race car driver, chef, philanthropist...
The man wore many hats and will be missed by many as well.

May you find peace with God, oh beautiful blue-eyed one.

Manic Monday

Pick out the most important item you have in your purse/wallet and tell why it's important to you.
I keep so much inside my purse, it's hard to decide...
I suppose that my cell phone is probably the most impotrant thing in there. All of my important contacts are stored in its memory, I can use it to get help in an emergency, I can be contacted in case of a family emergency, and I can use it for fun stuff, too!
Camera, texting, etc...

What would you take from your house if you knew it would be flooded tomorrow?
Besides my family and pets?
My guitars, my laptop computer, all of the things that used to be Grandma's, my Michael Schenker CDs...
Oh, and my ticket for the ark! Considering that I live in a two story house high upon a hill, there would have to be a flood of biblical proportions for my entire house to be flooded.

If you were stuck in a room for an hour with a chalk board, what would you draw on it?
Nothing. I'm far more likely to write something than to draw. Of course, this is assuming that there is some chalk there along with the chalk board!

Never Forget

On this seventh anniversary of the 9-11 attacks, let us pause to remember those innocents who lost their lives on that day...

And now that seven years have passed, let us forgive and work for peace and understanding.
Acts of violence, hatred and revenge may give temporary satisfaction, but in the end all that they do is reap more of the same.
Let the hatred STOP with US!

My Claim To Fame

You will be a Notorious Criminal

Your fame will be gained through your unlawful deeds. You are very smart and will probably get away with it for a long time – if not forever. You are not evil, necessarily, but when you don’t agree with a law, you just ignore it.

Manic Monday

If you could choose only two movies to watch ever again, what would they be?
Meet The Fockers - because it never fails to make me laugh
Star Wars: Return Of The Jedi - Because I'd die without sci-fi

What have you found to be the best way to relieve tension?
Listening to this album...

It has a druglike effect on me.

If you went to a beach and it turned out to be a nude beach, would you stay and go swimming? Would you swim nude?
If I went to a beach and it turned out to be a nude beach it would be because I wanted to go to a nude beach. It's hardly a deep dark secret which ones they are in most places. Following that line of reasoning, I would definitely go 'skinny dipping' with everyone else.

Time For Another Blogthing

What Your Back to School Personality Says About You

You are laid back and fairly dispassionate. Traditional concepts of success are not important to you.

You are most likely to succeed when you are able to be independent and self directed. You are perfectly able of carving your own path.

Your greatest skill is making something out of nothing. You don't need much to feel inspired.

Your biggest stumbling block in life is time management. You tend to waste time with silly tasks, and as a result, your life can be pretty chaotic.

You're not quite sure what you're thankful for in life, it doesn't seem like there's a lot to be thankful for these days.

Manic Monday

If you were to name the one thing you have the most compassion for, what would it be?
Thing? Are we talking about situations here?
I suppose that I have the most compassion for those in situations that I can relate to, addictive types, for example. Hence my passion for Michael Schenker...

It's been said that, "The best things in life are free." Do you think this is true?
It would be nice if it were true, but it's not. Every good thing in life has a cost, it's just not always monetary.

What is the most valuable thing you own?
It depends on what type of value you're seeking.
My house would be the thing that I own with the most monetary value, but there are plenty of other things that I own that have much more value to me than the building that contains them, for example...

She sat in my grandma's kitchen forever it seems. Now she sits in mine.
There is no amount of money that could ever replace her!
