Another Year Gone By

As another holiday season and year come to a close, Santa and one of his reindeer wave goodbye to us until next December...

Woot! I made it alive!!!

My Year

(According To Blogthings)

Considering where I was 12 months ago at this time, is it any wonder that I got this result?

You Had a Fantastic Year!

Compared to most years, last year was definitely great.
Overall, you're living a much better life than you were twelve months ago. And nothing is a better mark of a good year.
Here's to hoping next year is even better!

Things are definitely looking better than they were last year at this time, but I personally wouldn't go so far as to say it was a fantastic year.

Chocolate Overload!

I chocolate, but too much of anything, even something as delightful as chocolate, is not necessarily a good thing.

It would seem that too many people thought that chocolate was THE thing to give me this year. Combine that with the treats that I bought myself and it's a definite recipe for a chocolate overload!

Don't believe me?!

Here is a partial list of many types of chocolates lurking about my house...

Peanut butter meltaways
Cappuchino meltaways
Raspberry Meltaways
Chocolate covered pretzels
Chocolate covered Oreos
Hershey's Pot-O-Gold truffles
Orange jelly sticks
Orange creme sticks
Raspberry cream sticks
Cordial Cherries
Chocolate covered marshmallows rolled in peppermint
Half pound Hershey bar

My Level Of Spirit

Your Christmas Sprit Level: 40%

You definitely have some Christmas spirit, and you enjoy the holidays as much as the average person.
You don't go over the top celebrating, and by December 26th, you're ready to pack away your decorations.

You have your own special Christmas traditions, and you tend to pick and choose what you like about Christmas.
The holidays are important to you, but you don't let them take over your life.

Lest We Forget

We string up the lights.
We decorate our trees.
We rush about to buy our gifts...

I think that we may have all forgotten what Christmas is all about!

Manic Monday

What is your idea of a perfect romantic evening?
An evening spent with Michael Schenker...
But you knew that already, didn't you?

Imagine you had to take part in the winter Olympics. What sport would you do?
When I was a little girl, I had fantasies of being a figure skater, but I'm too clumsy for that!
Bobsledding would probably be a better sport for me.

What's something that people do in traffic that really bothers you?
I hate horn honkers. If traffic is tied up, making a bunch of noise isn't going to get anyone where she's going any faster. It will just give everyone a headache!

Under The Christmas Tree

Ten years ago, a co-worker gave me this nativity set for Christmas because she knew that I collected them. I already had several on display, so I tucked hers away for the next year. I did not discover it again until today. The box was still unopened.
It now has a place of honor under the tree!

Thursday Thirteen

Thirteen things that I am really sick of...

1. Cold rainy days
2. Barcodes that won't scan
3. Working 9+ hour days
4. My old slow computers
5.Christmas music
6. Paying $3 a gallon for gasoline
7. Waking up before 6 AM
8. Companies that screw up your bills and make you pay for their mistakes
9. Self-righteous non-smokers
10. Bob Anderson
11. Women's clothing that has no room for breasts!
12. Music stores that stock only a bunch of hits collections and a band's most recent CD
13. Spam

Manic Monday

For the holidays, are you a last-minute shopper or do you shop well ahead of time?
I can be found in Wal Mart just before it closes on Christmas Eve...
What do you think?

If you had to pick a new first name for yourself, what name would you choose?
Hmmm... I hate my first name. So bland and boring, and shared with a zillion other women my age.
I'd prefer something more unique, but I'm not sure what.
Back in my radio days, I used the name Kelly.

What's worse, having expectations that are too high, or having no expectations at all?
If yoiu have no expectations at all, you will never be dis appointed!

A Tale Of Christmas Lights

Once upon a time someone saw fancy muticolored Christmas icile lights on someone's house while driving to Wal Mart. So pretty were these lights that she bought a set of them while there to hang on her own home.

Alas one set was not enough, so she had to return to buy another set a few days later...

As luck would have it, when those lights were taken out to be hung, she discovered that they were clear, not multicolored.

Not wanting mismatched lights on her house, it was time to return to Wal Mart again...

All seemed to be well when the box was checked and double checked to be certain that they were multicolored.

At home the lights are hung and plugged in. Only half light up!

Yet another trip to Wal Mart...

Sick of waiting in lines at customer service, #2 son takes the defective lights back to the store for exchange. He returns with the new set, and the car pulls away so that the lights may be hung on the porch at home...

"Stop the car!" shouts #2 son.
He has accidentally picked up the clear lights again...

Back into Wal Mart he goes to get the correct lights.

At long last, properly matched multicolored icicle lights are hanging on the front porch. They function properly, for now...

So Damned Cold

I hate being cold. And with the furnace on the fritz and no one to figure out what's wrong with it (and no money to buy a new one), my little electric space heaters are working overtime just to keep me from totally freezing.
What I really need is this to keep me warm...

My sweet Michael, of course!

It's not exactly the greatest photo of him, but it still makes me just want to hug him and love him to pieces.

Manic Monday

What's the longest you've ever waited in line?
I try to put such dreadful things from my mind after they happen, but I do know that I waited over an hour to get on the Steel Phantom the year that it was first opened at Kennywood. I've probably waited longer for something else, but I've put it out of my mind.

It's been said that, "The best things in life are free." Do you think this is true? Why or why not?
This is absolutely false. Everything in life has a cost. That cost might not be monetary, but it is a cost all the same.

If you could go back in time and re-live one day in your life, which day would you choose and why?

Further proof that my job sucks!

Your Job Satisfaction Level: 38%

Your job is definitely a bummer, and you probably should get a new one.
Make sure you know what's getting you down.
Is it your co-workers? The work environment? Your boss?
Getting a new job is important, but so is not repeating the same mistakes.

Santa Claus Is Coming

To a mailbox near you!

Unfortunately, he's making me do most of his dirty work.
